Zenonia 5 is the recent addition to the famous series by Gamevil inc. Zenonia 5 is an RPG game that allows you to take control 1 of 4 classes which consist of the Wizard, the Paladin, the Mechanic, and the Bezerker. The Paladin is a melee class that wields a sword and shield. She uses a variety of sword attacks, and also shield attacks. The Paladin also prefers STR, and CON over all other stats. This is so because putting points into STR increase ATT and DEF most importantly, but also increase CRI.DMG. CON also increases ATT and DEF but most importantly increases max HP which is utterly important in this game. The Wizard is the obviously the ability oriented class which relies heavenly on mana and abilities. The most important stat on a Wizard is INT which increases ATT/HIT/CRIT.DMG and Max SP, which is the mana in Zenonia 5. The Bezerker wields a 2h sword that deal heavy damage. The most important stat on the Bezerker is obviously strength , which increases STR / DEF for them. Their abilities revolve around dealing tons of single target damage and tons of AoE damage. The Mechanic revolves around the Dexterity stat which increases ATT/HIT/EVA/and CRIT.DMG. The mechanic’s abilities are mainly AoE abilities that deal tons of damage, and also providing gap making abilities , to ensure the mechanic takes as less damage and possible.
The story line is about a young boy Abel whose when village is attacked he is introduced to his destiny to save the world from the Devil tribe. Now i found that the game play is either a grind fest to get 10+ levels above the current boss you are at , or you can sadly buy stats/items to make is a buy to win game. Grinding in this game is utterly boring , and impossible if you don’t farm lower levels first for gold for potions because if you choose a squishy class like the wizard , mobs that are your level hit you for a TON of damage , making you chug potion after potion. With that it is more a buy to win game then a farming game. I know i got stuck at around lvl 36 as a wizard because after 2-3 hits id be dead just from mobs that were my level , or one level higher. The bosses on the other hand are really fun fights, cause the game implements mechanics which require you to run around and dodge instead of having you just whack at him until he is dead. But they just do TO much damage to be able to kill them without having to buy zen (currency bought from the in game store) to increase your stats or give you better gear.
Zenonia 5 also has a PvP system which allows you to face off other people’s hero head on or 2v2. The PvP system in my opinion isn’t really PvP because when you fight another person , it is actually a bot , which inst controlled by another player which in my opinion is stupid , and ruins the whole PvP idea they had. Each class had their own PvP oriented abilities which provided CC, or gap closer, to stuns, and slows, and all that good stuff .
In Zenonia 5 they also added a new feature to the series , Raids. Now of course they just had to make it so you had to PAY yes PAY to get into the raid . Each encounter costs around 30 zen , and of course increasing the higher lvl /harder the raid , which is just plain STUPID. You should be able to freely raid with other players without paying offering a fun and MMO style game that frankly a lot of people would enjoy.
The game is really fun along with the previous games in the serious, which I highly recommend you buy and play cause they are not as much of a Buy to win style, which I think they are increasing the difficulty with each new game. I give it 4/5 stars, which I would love to give it 5/5 but being a buy to win game, it will just never attain that last star.
